The Hyatt Regency Kauai Resort and Spa and The Sheraton Kauai Resort are the two hotels located on Kauai.

The Hyatt Regency welcomes guests with gorgeous, open courtyards and terraces overlooking the ocean, access to freshwater and saltwater pools, and abundant flora cultivated throughout the property. Rooms are equipped with full entertainment systems, private lanais, and spacious bathrooms. The hotel provides guests with on-site tennis courts and adjacent golf links, as well as access to the Anara Spa for unwinding after a long day of physical activity.

Visitors who stay at the Sheraton Kauai Resort can look forward to a variety of hotel-based activities from the supervised Keiki Aloha Club for kids and a host of daily cultural activities available through the concierge desk. The hotel provides guests with a complimentary shuttle service throughout the day for locations within a three mile radius, and pool area, beach activity center, and tennis courts don’t provide enough action. Choose between one to five bedrooms, and room décor from Hawaiian, Spanish, or chic modern themes. These large ground also house tennis courts, six swimming pools, two hot tubs, and numerous barbeque areas. The Kiahuna Plantation Resort has spacious rooms with full kitchens, separate dining rooms and private lanais. Units here are also near a beach frequented by the playful Hawaiian Monk Seals that call the island home during certain months out of the year. Many packages are available, but one-bedroom suites run $225-460, two-bedroom suites are 365-505 and units on the far end of the property range from $240-950. The Poipu Kapili is a luxurious piece of property equipped with a pool, sprawling lawns, tennis courts, and rooms furnished with modern appliances. The one-bedroom suites are a spacious 1,200 feet for $220-240 a night and two-bedroom accommodations are $290-500 for a 2,600 feet spread.

The Pua Hale is a vacation rental tastefully done in Japanese undertones that offers all the comforts of home from soaking tubs to complete kitchens to full laundry and kitchen areas enclosed on a 750-foot property. This deluxe house is rented for $125 a night or $800 per week. There is the large property of Maluhia ma ka Honua—an ideal rental for families--that has three bedrooms, four bathrooms, full kitchen, and spacious interior common areas. The rate here is $2,100 per week. The bed-and-breakfast Poipu Plantation Resort is a homey plantation-era venue that has private bedrooms and baths, with a common area where guests eat the freshly prepared, complimentary breakfasts daily. There is also a separate piece of the property with reasonably priced condo units for those seeking a bit more privacy.

On the west end, guests can choose the Waikomo Stream Villas, a condo complex named for the stream it is located up against, just a bit inland from of Koloa Landing. The units at the Whaler's Cove are all equipped with full kitchens, baths, daily housekeeping, and full laundry services available. Kuhio Shores, Prince Kuhio, and Lawa'I Beach Resort are other west-end locations worth checking out for reasonable rates.
